These 3 are our go-to brain games. My son loves all three and they each challenge him in a different way; pattern matching, memory, and strategy.
The Tangram he does on his own, working through the 40 pattern cards. The Tic-Tac-Toe is surprisingly addictive, mode 4 challenges his memory and concentration, he is yet to beat it! And the Tetris board game is the one we play together.
What I like about this combo:

• Mix of solo and head-to-head play

On age: The Tangram suits 3+. The Tic-Tac-Toe and Tetris are better from 5+. The Tic-Tac-Toe needs 2x AA batteries (not included).

My verdict:
This is a great screen-free alternative that actually holds their attention, it may not hold for days but this trio delivers. Not flashy. Just smart play.
